I believe maths isn't something you're simply "good" or "bad" at - it's a language anyone can learn to speak with the right guide beside them. My job is to help you find that voice, one logical step at a time.
I've spent over a decade teaching maths to pupils from Year 5 up to Year 11 across Worcestershire and the Midlands. I've worked with students in both state and independent schools, preparing them for GCSE and Common Entrance exams, and helping many win scholarships to Malvern College, Cheltenham Ladies' College and King's Worcester.
I trained as a secondary maths teacher after completing my mathematics degree at the University of Bath, and I still love teaching every bit as much as I did on day one. For me, it's not about repetition-and-recall learning or exam drills - it's about that moment when a student says, "I can do this now."
My lessons are clear, structured and encouraging. I mix high expectations with patience and humour, because learning should feel like progress - not pressure.
Vision
My vision is simple: to make maths make sense. Every student, no matter their starting point, deserves to feel capable and curious - not anxious. I want each pupil I teach to walk away not just with better grades, but with the quiet belief that they can handle anything logical the world throws at them.
Values
- Patience and understanding: Learning takes time. I meet students where they are and move forward together.
- Curiosity: Maths isn't about memorising; it's about exploring. Questions are not interruptions - they're the point.
- Clarity: I believe in teaching for understanding, not short-term recall. When you truly grasp why something works, you'll never forget it.
- Confidence through success: Progress builds belief - and belief transforms everything.
How I Teach
Every student learns differently, so I adapt constantly. Some lessons are visual and discussion-based; others are hands-on with problem solving. I use digital tools like interactive whiteboards and step-by-step examples, but I never lose sight of what really matters - connection, understanding, and a sense of progress that students can feel as well as measure.
